USA educated Indian Political Science researcher writes about threat to American institutions and system due to Trump campaign

Here's an article on Donald Trump's campaign in The Hindu today (Oct. 29th 2016), Why Donald Trump has already won, http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/lead/why-donald-trump-has-already-won/article9282367.ece by Neelanjan Sircar, a senior fellow at the Centre for Policy Research (India).

The sub-title for the article is, "The defining characteristic of his campaign has been an unapologetic endorsement of nativism that threatens to unleash an angry, paranoid population that no longer trusts American institutions".

The nativism quoted above seems to refer to European American (white) "natives" of the USA (different from native Americans/American Indians, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_Americans_in_the_United_States).

In the context of Trump being critical of USA democratic institutions and his statements about the likelihood of the election being rigged against him, the article states that it is a dangerous game, and concludes with the sentence:

"Today, the greatest threat to the American way of life lies not outside, but within America’s own borders."

An extract from the author of the article, Neelanjan Sircar's, short-bio, http://www.cprindia.org/people/neelanjan-sircar, "Mr Sircar is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for the Advanced Study of India at the University of Pennsylvania. He received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics from UC Berkeley in 2003 and a PhD in political science from Columbia University in 2014."

Please note that I have a PUBLICLY NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about the USA presidential elections. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me voting in these elections.

[I thank thehindu.com and cprindia.org and have presumed that they will not have any objections to me sharing the above short extracts from their websites on this post which is freely viewable by all, and does not have any financial profit motive whatsoever.]
