Saudi Arabia acknowledges that Jamal Khashoggi was killed in Saudi consulate; Many thanks to USA Congressmen and USA Presidency and Turkish govt. for forcing this truth to be acknowledged

Saudi Arabia Says Jamal Khashoggi Was Killed in Consulate Fight, https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/19/world/middleeast/jamal-khashoggi-dead-saudi-arabia.html, 19th Oct. 2018

Hmm. So now we know officially from Saudi Arabia that Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey and that the original statements about him having left the consulate alive were false.

The article states, "After two weeks of shifting stories, Saudi Arabia said Saturday that its agents strangled Jamal Khashoggi, a dissident journalist, during a fistfight inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul and that 18 men had been arrested in the case."

While it is tragic to know for certain from Saudi authorities themselves that Khashoggi, a dissident writer, was killed in the Saudi consulate, I think even this level of truth being shared with the world public is a big achievement.

And for this achievement, we must be grateful to Turkish government and to USA Congress and Presidency. While many USA Congressmen may have spoken out on this matter in public, I saw strong statements being made by USA Senators Lindsay Graham, Bob Corker, Marco Rubio, Chris Murphy and Bernie Sanders as this tragic and horrific murder story/reporting was unfolding. I think the pressure these Congressmen put would have made a significant impact on this truth being revealed by the Saudi authorities.

As a social media writer in India for over five years now, where I have also done some level of whistle-blowing due to which attempts were made to pressurise me to stop such work and which I successfully fought back against, i know from direct experience how vital freedom of speech is for the truth to be shared with the public.

Most people get scared to publicly speak unpleasant truth to power due to the negative consequences they might have to face. I understand that and it is a ***brutal*** fact of life with a lot of practical wisdom.

Only a few have the courage to publicly speak unpleasant truth to power which, at times, prevents those in power from becoming totally drunk with power and indulging in, or continuing to indulge in, gross abuse of power. Such persons must be protected by truth and goodness loving people. I thank all the above mentioned US Senators as well as other US Congressmen/Congresswomen and US Presidency and Cabinet members who publicly spoke up in a similar manner, for the protection they provided and are continuing to provide, to freedom of speech and truth being revealed to the public, in this horrific and tragic killing of Jamal Khashoggi. Note that Khashoggi was a Saudi dissident writer who was a resident of the USA. I also thank the Turkish government for their vital work to share the truth. I pray to Almighty God/Allah to bless these above mentioned US Congressmen and US Presidency and cabinet members, and the Turkish government, for this great service they have done to the cause of truth which I view as a holy and divine power, and an eternal value. Sathyameva Jayate is a great saying from Hindu scripture, meaning 'Truth alone is victorious'. USA Congress and Presidency have certainly helped in some degree of truth prevailing (being victorious) in this horrific murder and associated cover-up.
