Before The Flood - Oct 2016 climate change movie with Leonardo DiCaprio lead role

I am just reeling after seeing the recently released climate change documentary/non-fictional movie, "Before the Flood", having Leonardo DiCaprio playing the lead role. Here's the video, Before the Flood - Full Movie | National Geographic, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90CkXVF-Q8M, 1 hr 35 mins, published on Oct. 30th 2016.

The movie has DiCaprio going to various hotspots in the globe that are getting impacted by climate change and talking to various scientist experts on the matter. He also speaks to world leaders like UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, USA president Obama, USA Secretary of State John Kerry and Pope Francis. Political opposition to climate change activism is also clearly covered, especially in the USA. Countries/regions shown in the movie that, according to the movie, are already facing negative impacts of climate change include Greenland, China, India, Indonesia, USA and some island nations which are severely threatened by rise in sea levels (sorry I do not recall their names from my first viewing). Positive stories about move to renewable energy are shared from countries like Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Of course, the movie covers the Paris climate agreement too.

Around 1 hr 27 mins in the movie, we have UN Secy Gen Ban Ki Moon announcing Leonardo DiCaprio, UN messenger of peace, as the last speaker at the Paris Climate Accord signing ceremony in New York City [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_Agreement states "It was opened for signature on 22 April 2016 (Earth Day) in a ceremony in New York City."]

DiCaprio says:
Thank you Secretary General for the honour to address this body. Thanks to the distinguished climate leaders assembled here today who are ready to take action. As a UN messenger of peace, I have travelled all over the world for the last two years. I have seen cities like Beijing choked by industrial pollution, (Inchik?) boreal forests in Canada that have been (clearcut) and rainforests in Indonesia that have been incinerated. In India I met farmers whose crops have been literally washed away. In America I witnessed sea level rise flooding the streets of Miami. In Greenland and in the Arctic I was astonished to see that ancient glaciers are rapidly disappearing well ahead of scientific predictions. All (that) I have seen and learned on my journey is absolutely terrifying!

Now think about the shame that each of us will carry when our children and grandchildren look back and realize that we had the means of stopping this devastation but simply lacked the political will to do so. Yes, we have achieved the Paris agreement. More countries have come together here to sign this agreement today than for any other cause in the history of humankind and that is reason for hope. But, unfortunately, the evidence shows us that it will not be enough.

A massive change is required right now. One that leads to a new collective consciousness, a new collective evolution of the human race, inspired and enabled by a sense of urgency from all of you. We can congratulate each other today. But it will mean absolutely nothing if you return to your countries and fail to (look) beyond the promises of this historic agreement.

After 21 years of debates and conferences, it is time to declare no more talk, no more excuses, no more ten year studies, no more allowing the fossil fuel companies to manipulate and dictate the science and policies that affect our future. The world is now watching. You will either be lauded by future generations or vilified by them. You are the last best hope of earth. We ask you to protect it or we and all living things we cherish are history.

Ravi: I will need to see it again (and again ...) to digest it properly. Some of the (limited) stuff I have heard/read related to climate change in this 2016 USA presidential election campaign (for climate change action & against climate change action/denial of climate change) got referenced in this movie and got clarified to some extent. Hopefully, repeat viewing of it, along with some support reading, will make it more clearer to me.

Here's the wiki page for the movie, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Before_the_Flood_(film). An extract from it is given below:

[I thank "Before the Flood" movie producers, Leonardo DiCaprio and wikipedia, and have presumed that they will not have any objections to me sharing the above short transcript/ short extracts from their movie/website on this post which is freely viewable by all, and does not have any financial profit motive whatsoever.]
