Must be quite scary for Sundar Pichai to be Google CEO when guys like Alex Jones go after him

I think Sundar Pichai, an India born software techie, now Google CEO, must have been quite distressed to be confronted by Alex Jones and another person, while he was going to the hall in the House of Representatives for his hearing with the Judiciary committee. I think I can understand his unenviable position in such matters and so sympathize with him, as I am an India born former software techie.

Now this video has not only that confrontation but some other very harsh words from Alex Jones about Google, after Sundar Pichai has entered the room, and Alex Jones & co. are left in the passage way (I don't want to say it here but it can be heard in the linked video).

In the recent past, Alex Jones' channels have been banned on many social media channels. I think this includes Google owned Youtube. I think, but am not sure, that the stated reasons are that his channels have violated their norms with respect to hate speech. Now this would have hurt Jones very much as these social media channels seem to be the main way he beams his views across to his viewers/listeners, and earns revenue (say by Advertisements). So it is no wonder that he is mad at Google and other social media companies.

But then, for Pichai to have to hear all these harsh words while he was going to the hall for his hearing, would have been very distressing.

With great power, including great money-power, comes great responsibility, they say. But you get a lot of hatred too!

Developing the thick skin and steel to withstand such hatred, may perhaps be one of the toughest things for a top-notch tech. company CEO.

Interestingly, Google has not yet removed this video where Alex Jones criticizes Google in a very, very harsh way. Perhaps they are allowing this video to be up on youtube to show that they are not suppressing free speech rights of Alex Jones!

Update: Watched it for some time. It was interesting to some extent. But Pichai is playing safe and being very guarded in his statements. As CEO I guess that's the wise thing for him to do as legal jeopardy with USA Congress is not to be laughed at but to be pretty scared of, even if you are CEO of a mega company. But that limits how educative the session can be about the real issues involved.
