Good to see US Congress back at work to formally confirm Joe Biden's election as President, after sad desecration of US Capitol by mob

The video below has pics and a video clip of the mob of protestors who seem to be pro-Trump, showing how the mob confronted the Capitol police, forced their way into the Capitol building and desecrated some areas there, including the Senate chamber and office of House (of Representatives) Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It also shows a very telling pic of what the video says is the U.S. House of Representatives chamber, with its door barricaded from inside and with security officers behind the barricade having pistols drawn pointing to the door, ready to shoot anybody who attempts to try to come inside. My God! This is not from a movie but real stuff that happened.

It is very sad that President Trump did not condemn this storming of the U.S. Capitol by what seems to be his supporters.

Senator Joe Biden, who is almost certainly going to be formally certified by U.S. Congress as President-elect, speaks on this matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaTFqDNtuuc, around 10 mins, published by CNN.

Biden calls the mob storming actions as an assault on US democracy, and calls on the mob to pull back and let democracy function. He then calls on President Trump to go on national TV to demand an end to the "siege".

I think this was followed by this message from President Trump: Donald Trump asks supporters to stay peaceful and go home, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SZYlyFvRCo, 1 min. 1 sec, published by Gimme Some News . This seems to have been put out first on Twitter by President Trump but which later got blocked by Twitter.

The good thing that happened later was that US Congress reconvened and got back to their work of formally counting the electoral college votes and certifying that Joe Biden (and Kamala Harris) won the presidential election. Speeches were made in US Congress chamber by both Republican and Democratic party leaders condemning the mob actions of storming the Capitol and desecrating it, and saying that the mob will not win, and that US Congress will not be intimidated by them. Given below are a selection of these speeches by key leaders of US Congress.

We gather here due to a selfish man's injured pride - Sen. Mitt Romney, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvmM9AvV4A8, 3 min. 47 secs., published by CNN. Note that Mitt Romney is a former Governor of Massachusetts and was the nominee for President in the 2012 US presidential election. Recently he was horribly targeted and humiliated by some Trump supporters as he was flying from his home city of Salt Lake City in Utah to Washington DC ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyoNqJNRSNA, 2 min. 30 secs and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neIjbu3up3I, 1 min. 3 secs. ).

As some of the above mentioned US political leaders said, it was a very sad day due to the mob desecration of the temple of US democracy. However, it is really heartening for me, a lover of democracy and rule of law, to see that US Congress leaders and members across both major US political parties, got together and resumed the interrupted session, the same day! That clearly sends the message that the mob action failed! Congratulations to US Congress members for having done this in a united manner cutting across political parties.

Please note that I have a PUBLICLY (POLITICALLY) NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about USA politics. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me having voted in USA elections. I am a well-wisher of the people of the USA. I should also say that I am a grateful beneficiary, a lover and an open supporter of democracy in India, and in other democratic countries of the world in general, including USA.
