Great to see clear support from US armed forces to rule of law and for inauguration of Joe Biden as US President and Commander-in-Chief on 20th Jan. 2021
An NPR article on the matter: Joint Chiefs Remind U.S. Forces That They Defend The Constitution, https://www.npr.org/sections/congress-electoral-college-tally-live-updates/2021/01/12/956170188/joint-chiefs-remind-u-s-forces-that-they-defend-the-constitution, 12th Jan. 2021.
An extract from above article:
The letter was addressed to the joint force, which is made up of about 1.3 million active-duty service members and more than 811,000 National Guardsmen and reservists — all of whom swore an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

The one-page letter itself from US armed forces joint chiefs: https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/20449003/jcs-message-to-the-joint-force-jan-12-21.pdf .
Some extracts from the above letter:
"The violent riot in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 was a direct assault on the U.S. Congress, the Capitol building, and our Constitutional process."
..
"We witnessed actions inside the Capitol building that were inconsistent with the rule of law. The rights of freedom of speech and assembly do not give anyone the right to resort to violence, sedition and insurrection."
..
"On January 20, 2021, in accordance with the Constitution, confirmed by the states and the courts, and certified by Congress, President-elect Biden will be inaugurated and will become our 46th Commander in Chief."
--- end extracts ---
I think that settles the matter. Right-wing militias in USA (some of whose members seem to have participated in the riot/insurrection in US Capitol) are no match for US armed forces.
But what a scare the riot/insurrection in US Capitol was to democracy and rule of law in USA!
[I thank npr.org and Dept. of Defense, USA, and have presumed that they will not have any objections to me sharing the above extract(s) from their website/public letter on this post which is freely viewable by all, and does not have any financial profit motive whatsoever.]
Please note that I have a PUBLICLY (POLITICALLY) NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about USA politics. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me having voted in USA elections. I am a well-wisher of the people of the USA. I should also say that I am a grateful beneficiary, a lover and an open supporter of democracy in India, and in other democratic countries of the world in general, including USA.
