Good to see 20th Jan. inauguration function of US President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris happen smoothly without any public disturbance

I saw most of the 20th Jan. 2021 inauguration function of US President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris on ABC News live stream video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIOizAIqZtc, around 12 hours. It is around 4 hours into the video that the inauguration function proper starts with Senator Amy Klobuchar addressing the assembled dignitaries and others.

While then President Donald Trump was absent, then Vice-President Mike Pence was present along with other leaders of the Republican party including then Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell. That was good to see.

It was also good to see former US presidents from both Democratic and Republican parties - Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barrack Obama - being present and having cordial interactions with each other and other dignitaries.

From the 20th Jan. inauguration function only perspective, it came across as an orderly transition of power from the Donald Trump administration to the Joe Biden administration even if Donald Trump was not present then. There was no public disturbance whatsoever. Note that the event was held in the same US Capitol area where two weeks ago on Jan. 6th, there was public rioting and invasion of the Capitol with some rioters seeming intent on committing physical violence on some members of US Congress. The 20th January picture of US Capitol was a stark and very welcome contrast to the 6th January picture.

Please note that I have a PUBLICLY (POLITICALLY) NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about USA politics. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me having voted in USA elections. I am a well-wisher of the people of the USA. I should also say that I am a grateful beneficiary, a lover and an open supporter of democracy in India, and in other democratic countries of the world in general, including USA.
