"A Wisconsin judge ruled on Friday that the man who admitted to slaying the parents of 13-year-old Jayme Closs before abducting and holding her captive for 88 days will spend the rest of his life serving two life terms in prison without parole, according to the New York Times and Associated Press. "

Jayme Closs was kidnapped in October last year (2018). She escaped from her kidnapper Patterson in January this year (2019), and Patterson was arrested soon after.

Ravi: Going beyond the horrific tragedy, what is great about this is that the USA justice system has delivered justice to the killer and kidnapper! That not only gives the victims a feeling of satisfaction that the guilty has got appropriate punishment but also sends a message to would-be killers and kidnappers that this is what they will face if they try to do something like what this horrible killer and kidnapper did.

In India, while things have improved significantly and are still improving, given the many challenges that an economically developing nation has, justice is usually not delivered so swiftly and so appropriately. "Justice delayed is justice denied" tends to apply to many such cases in Indian courts.

So I really admire the USA justice system for having delivered justice in this case in reasonable time. Hats off!
