Joe Scarborough article critical of USA president Trump's leadership of USA Republican party
A thought-provoking article critical of USA President Trump and current Republican Party by former Republican and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, Trump is killing the Republican Party, https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump-is-killing-the-republican-party/2017/07/16/048056dc-68c4-11e7-a1d7-9a32c91c6f40_story.html, dated 16-Jul-2017
Scarborough says that the Republican party has moved away from its principles of resisting bloated government and military adventurism. He criticizes President Trump's leadership of the Republican party and says that Trump is "hopelessly ill-informed about the basics of conservatism, U.S. history and the Constitution".
A small extract from it related to George W. Bush presidency years:
As the new century began, Republicans gained control of the federal government. George W. Bush and the GOP Congress responded by turning a $155 billion surplus into a $1 trillion deficit and doubling the national debt, passing a $7 trillion unfunded entitlement program and promoting a foreign policy so utopian it would have made Woodrow Wilson blush. Voters made Nancy Pelosi speaker of the House in 2006 and Barack Obama president in 2008.

Ravi: I hope to find an appropriate rebuttal article whose link I intend to provide in this post.
Please note that I have a PUBLICLY NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about USA politics. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me having voted in USA elections.
