USA Presidential medal of freedom conferred on USA Vice-president Joe Biden

Touching and so human (nice guy kind of human)!

What I am really struck by is how human, in the sense of being a nice guy, USA president Obama and USA vice-president Biden can be even in a prestigious award ceremony without taking anything away, IMHO, from the prestige of the award ceremony.

USA democracy does have that awesome ability to combine human/nice guy and political power aspects in their public functions and ceremonies, including somewhat combative senate confirmation hearings like that of Secretary of State designate Mr. Rex Tillerson (I saw more than an hour of that long confirmation hearing video yesterday night and intend to see more of it later - Rex Tillerson Confirmation Hearing for Secretary of State, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOD16qUaRPc, around 9 hours, Jan. 11th 2017).

Of course, one striking aspect of this two term Obama-Biden presidency is that it is an African-American (black) President and family (first time) combining with a white vice-president and family. That the USA president and vice-president and their families struck up such a friendly partnership is very heartening for guys like me who are happy to see multi-race, multi-religion (including no religion) and multi-ethnic communities flourishing in a spirit of love, joy, tolerance and peace.

Please note that I have a PUBLICLY NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about the USA presidential elections/presidential events. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me having voted in these elections.
