Possibility of freely accessible 3D-printed guns (in USA) is really scary to me!

The CBS News article linked below covers 3D-printed AR-15 and other gun blueprints that this inventor wants to make freely accessible to anybody who wants to download them and then use a 3D printer and/or a metal milling machine (sold by the man's company) to make plastic or metal guns respectively!

My first reaction is fear. But then I live in India and not the USA  and so am not exposed to life with easy and legal access to guns for almost all adult citizens who can afford them, which is the case with the USA.

Man behind 3D-printed gun blueprints explains why he wants to post instructions online,  https://www.cbsnews.com/news/3d-printed-gun-maker-cody-wilson-explains-why-he-wants-to-post-blueprints-for-ar-15-style-rifles/, 31st July 2018.

The article quotes the man, Cody Wilson, as saying "I believe that I am championing the second amendment in the 21st century".."Unquestionably, it's good for the future — unquestionably. I think access to the firearm is a fundamental human dignity, a fundamental human right."

Access to a gun including sub-machine guns like AR-15 which have been used in mass killings in the USA, a fundamental human dignity, a fundamental human right! Hmm. What can I say? It takes all kinds to make the world.

Maybe some folks would like the world to be like the Wild West of the USA - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_frontier. But I certainly would not want the world, especially my country of India, to be like that.

3D printed guns are here, but that’s not what we should be worried about, https://qz.com/1344798/3d-printed-guns-are-legal-in-the-us-but-homemade-guns-are-nothing-new/, 31st July 2018

The article states that making guns at home has been legal in the USA for long, though there may be a need to register them in some states.

It covers topics like the 3-D printing machines of various types and their costs and other automated systems for making guns.

Judge blocks release of blueprints for 3D-printed guns, 4 min. 39 secs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRATw2ScZFI, published on 31st July 2018 by CNN.

The above video has the Attorney General of Washington state, USA, saying that a Federal judge in Washington state has put a restraining order blocking the federal government from allowing distribution of downloadable 3D printed guns.

The video also states the NRA view that it has been illegal to possess untraceable home made guns in the USA for the past thirty years! Hmm. So NRA is saying such home made guns are illegal (unless registered and made traceable).

I think the picture on legality of home made untraceable guns (using a 3D-printer or in some other way) in USA is not clear. Some seem to say it is legal while others seem to say it is illegal.
