The USA Senate passed the major tax reform bill 51 votes for and 49 votes against. This video shows the voting and the speech by the Budget Committee head after the vote: Watch Live: Senate Votes and Passes GOP Tax Reform Bill (H.R. 1), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRQDS6TKENU, 21 min. 19 secs.

The video below shows Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell address the press after the USA Senate passes the major tax reform bill:

In response to a question about complaints that the bill was rushed through, Senate Majority leader McConnell says, in the above video, that the bill did go through due process and regular order. He said that the Democrats had plenty of notice with multiple hearings, markups and open amendment process. "Everybody had plenty of opportunity to see the measure. You complain about process when you are losing and that's what you heard on the floor tonight."

He then says in response to another question, "I am totally confident this is a revenue-neutral bill. I think this will be a revenue producer. As we have said over and over and over again, the 1.5 trillion dollar deficit .. to be filled only requires us to grow 4/10ths of one percent over the next ten years. Goodness Gracious! That's very much achievable. I am totally convinced this is a revenue-neutral bill, (actually?) revenue producer bill that's going to get America moving again."

Please note that I have a PUBLICLY NEUTRAL informal-student-observer role in these posts that I put up about USA politics. Of course, as I am an Indian citizen living in India, there is no question of me having voted in USA elections.
