Interesting documentary video on Battle of Stalingrad
Battle of Stalingrad - 42/43 - WWII Documentary, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jolmJ_DLLPE, around 45 mins, published by WW Documentaries.
A transcript snippet from the concluding part of the video, from around 43 mins [Note that the main part of the Axis soldiers in this battle were Nazi German soldiers.]:
The battle for Stalingrad lasted more than seven months. It resulted in more than 750,000 Soviet casualties and more than 850,000 from the Axis soldiers. Of the 500,000 civilians who had once populated the city, only 1500 remained. It was the winter of 1943 and while victory in Europe would not be official for more than two years, the inexorable German slide into defeat had begun.
The Soviets defended Stalingrad and within 26 months put Berlin under siege. The D-Day invasion turned the tide in the West but if the Soviets had not turned the Nazis back at Stalingrad, the war might have had a very different end.
The impact of the Battle of Stalingrad on the course and outcome of World War Two, in particular the Soviet-German portion of the war is fundamental. It is fundamental because the Battle of Stalingrad clearly indicated to all involved that Germany was going to lose the war.

I think the biggest defeat for Nazi Germany in World War II was the battle of Stalingrad, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Stalingrad. It was waged from August 23rd 1942 to 2nd February 1943 and resulted in victory of Soviet forces over Nazi and other Axis forces. It is viewed as the largest battle in warfare with nearly 2.2 million personnel engaging in it, and with 1.8 to 2 million being killed, wounded or captured (as per above wiki page).
The fighters of the Soviet Union who made great sacrifices and eventually defeated the Nazis and the other Axis powers, deserve the praise of the entire anti-fascist world today for having dealt Nazi Germany that terrible defeat from which Nazi Germany never recovered.
[I thank WW Documentaries and have presumed that they will not have any objections to me sharing the above small transcript extract from their youtube video on this post which is freely viewable by all, and does not have any financial profit motive whatsoever.]
