Trump's foreign trip impact on global politics; Modi starts his Europe trip

Here's an interesting view from a mainstream Indian newspaper, The Times of India, from its Washington, USA reporter, Chidanand Rajghatta, about the global political environment now after USA President Trump's foreign visits including to Western Europe, and about Narendra Modi's visit to Western Europe (Germany, France, Spain and Russia visits seems to be the schedule) now: Nine days that shook the world: On the tenth day, PM Modi goes to Europe, http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/nine-days-that-shook-the-world-on-the-tenth-day-pm-modi-goes-to-europe/articleshow/58899248.cms, dated May 29th 2017.

The article starts with the sentence, "Global politics is [Ravi: in] a tailspin and there is no telling when and how it will land." And ends by saying that Modi is engaging Europe just as Trump is disengaging US from it!

Ravi: Perhaps there is some exaggeration in the above article. I think saying that Trump is disengaging USA from Europe is an exaggeration. But there seems to be no doubt that Trump wants significant changes in USA's relations with Western Europe and NATO.

Facebook post of Indian PM Narendra Modi, https://www.facebook.com/narendramodi/photos/a.10150164299700165.421791.177526890164/10158827870625165/?type=3&theater, dated May 28th 2017, is about his then upcoming visit to Germany (now he is in Germany). An extract from his post is given below:

"India and Germany are large democracies, major economies and important players in regional and global affairs. Our strategic partnership is based on democratic values and commitment to an open, inclusive and rules-based global order."

Ravi: I am glad to see my country's (India) PM emphasise the shared values of India and many countries of Western Europe including Germany, which are "democratic values and commitment to an open, inclusive and rules-based global order". I fully support PM Narendra Modi on this matter.
