What a vetting process the (top) USA presidential candidates go through! Dr. Ben Carson gets a rough time from the media!

In my role as a neutral informal-student-observer of the USA presidential elections, I had not heard anything about the anger flashes and related violent incidents in Dr. Ben Carson's youth (poverty and father not being around being important factors, it seems), which he says he overcame through faith in God.

I guess now that he made it to the top (1st or 2nd) in the Republican polls the media (and perhaps his opponents) have dug into his past and even challenged his accounts of these incidents of violence in the past as well as a West Point INFORMAL offer that he claimed to have got ! My God! What a vetting process these USA presidential candidates go through! And that too in the full glare of the TV media.

Here are a couple of videos related to it:

Fox News which is willing to trust Dr. Carson's words, 3 min. 46 secs., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO5pIXbjrx0

Dr. Carson being grilled by reporters challenging authenticity of some accounts of his past as recorded in a book written by him; Dr. Carson loses his cool and goes after the reporters (verbally), 19 min. 13 secs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6lrvu5y-d8.

Around 11:52 in the above video Dr. Carson says (in response to a question (quite inaudible) which may have been about these violent incidents in his youth): "Well, it is important to me because it was the transformation for me. That's when I became a person who really understood the power of God in a person's life. And it created a whole new relationship between me and God at that point."

[Ravi: Great to know about how Dr. Carson's faith in God transformed him into a better person and enabled him to overcome his anger flashes and related violence.]

Around 15:30: Dr. Carson says, "73% of black babies are born out of wedlock." Hmm. Is that true? [http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2013/jul/29/don-lemon/cnns-don-lemon-says-more-72-percent-african-americ/ says it is true as per 2010 data.] Dr. Carson says this in response to a question about high rate of black-on-black crime. He goes on to talk about (most/many) such children not growing up in structured homes and the lack of proper authority figures in their lives, leading them to trouble. He also talks about his admiration for programmes like 'Save our youth' where people UNOFFICIALLY adopt these youngsters and show them the right set of values to have in one's life.

Mr. Trump makes a reference to Dr. Carson's violent incidents in his youth as strange, in the initial part of this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIcyiLMHhRg.
